First broadcast of Ciklops

- Latvia

Description

"In addition to the emerging film-festival circuit, Soviet Latvian experimental cinema made its way onto television screens in 1989 in the form of a four-part TV series entitled Ciklops (Cyclops). Created by rising TV producer and advertising professional Gintars Kavacis, Ciklops was dedicated to showcasing examples of the film and video avant-garde that was emerging in Soviet Latvia and abroad, and featured interviews with filmmakers, discussions pertaining to the relationship between art and cinema, and naturally the films themselves."
