Biography :

Michel Chion is a composer of musique concrète, director of audiovisual works and films, author of essays and books, and independent researcher on sound and perception. Honorary professor at the University of Buenos-Aires, he was associate professor at the University of Paris III-Sorbonne Nouvelle from 1994 to 2012, and has lectured at ESEC since 1990. He was a member of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales de l'ORTF and then of INA from 1971 to 1976, and a member of the editorial board of Cahiers du Cinéma from 1982 to 1986.
