“The artist’s aim in his work was the systematic expansion of the artistic practice into all areas of human activity, social and political reality. Hey implemented this intention with a family who lived in a wooden barrack house at kapellenstrasse 41 (near the urn cemetery/graz). The interior of kapellenstrasse 41 was photographed. These pictures were enlarged to
original size and fixed to each corresponding exterior wall, i.e. the interior of the apartment, the private inside, was shifted to the outside, giving local people a glimpse into the barrack apartment via the external view of the barrack the video: the mounting of the large-scale photos, together with the reactions of the public in the direct and nearby surroundings, were
transmitted live via video to the tv set in the apartment. Demolition of the barrack apartment and at the same time the relocation of its residents to affordable social housing. »
