Description
The work is composed of two tapes, two monitors and a text. (Source: Wulf Herzogenrath, "Marcel Odenbach, Das im Entwischen Erwischte Pläne 1975-1983 Video", Germany: Kunsthalle Bremen, 2008, p.191.)
"The video installation consists of two monitors placed in a corner. A monitor stands frontally with its screen facing the viewer. A colored video tape (only the color orange) is playing; it is a recording of the Bundestag debate about the adoption of the 1980 budget.
The second monitor is aimed at a wall at a distance of 50 cm (hardly accessible to the viewer). It plays a black and white videotape that I made during my scholarship in Paris. It reflects my situation during the 6 months at DM 1300 in a foreign country. The two monitors are assigned two texts that reflect two different points of view about money."
