Description

"Part of the “LIMITES” series.

This video is an examination of the different modalities of one reality. My intervention consists of graphically capturing:
a) My shadow
b) My static image (projected slide)
c) My dynamic image (super 8 film projection)
“The Limit” is a theme that overwhelms in its own obviousness. Drawing and scribbling the contour of a form is a primitive act, which must be conserved and developed. Anthropology of the skin; magic perversion of a “without” abolished by a separating sign of the “within”... and reciprocally in order to better subscribe the envelope of things and people. Common denominator of images and all codes (with time as a new concrete dimension) the VIDEO evokes a PICTORIAL SPACE whose specificity is still to be discovered...
... however one thing is gained: the substance. This electronic substance, far from passively receiving the images (film projection) at last produces them with a beautiful persistence of light, in a perpetual “techno-imaginary” happening.
Even if the little screen is much too often the site of a decorative exhibition of reality, guarantee of the worse ideological abuses, it is still the place of possibility."
