From the end of the 1960s, several French-speaking artists invested in the medium of video, without forming a group. Minkoff, who had been experimenting with closed-circuit installations since 1967, produced video tapes of a performative nature in 1971, notably Introduction of the artist concept by expenditure of physical energy and Kisses.
