Drawing Hood

Description

"The video work was created as a closed-circuit activity in the studio. You can see a portrait of the artist with a bandaged head, next to the same portrait as a photograph (based on a portrait by Karolus Lodenkämper).
Using a black pen, the actor's hand draws one of her early sculptural objects, the horned hood, over this portrait, first over the photo portrait, then over that of the seated actor herself. A grid-like curtain is drawn in front of the faces. The rhythm of time is set by a sequence of strange chicken clucking sounds. The result was a video portrait with ironic attitudes, as we know from the early hood objects and the associated photo sequences from the 1960s, in which Rosenbach depicted himself doing housework."
