Description
"The work appeared in the first series of autobiographical video sequences, which also included Einwicklung mit Julia. In epic length, a child's voice, which belongs to the artist's daughter, tells the fairy tale of the seven swans, in which seven prince brothers are transformed into swans and can only be redeemed by their sister if she throws seven self-made shirts made of stinging nettles over them.
The video illustrates this story in which two hands pull nettle flax from the plants over sixty minutes and tie it together to make a shirt. The strangeness of the scene is tied to the knowledge that the nettle plant is difficult to touch because it causes burning pain and skin blisters."
