"On the screen you can see a close-up of a child's head, half tilted and ready to receive the kisses of the mother bending over him. The head that bends over the child can be seen from behind as a smooth, dark mass of hair that repeatedly obscures the image. The kissing process is not visible, but rather can be recognized by quiet noises. The moment the back of the head disappears, the viewer sees the red lip marks of the mother's kiss on the child's face, which multiply with each kiss. The more time passes, the more the kiss marks transform from loving markings to an association of macabre branding that this exuberant gesture of maternal kissing leaves behind. The work is seen as a ritual metaphor of the mother-child relationship."
