Teaspoon

Description

"In another Audio‑Visual Research – Teaspoon, initially realized as a video recording, 1/5 inch, 2 min. (1975), and then as a 35 mm film, 2 min. (1976), Bruszewski again referred to the possibility of creating a visual and sound space. In the publication Practice of traps (1976), he outlined its structure: “On the screen (visually), every 5 seconds a teaspoon hits (overall 24 times) a vague but one and the same material object. The image is a pure unscripted recording. The sound hit of the teaspoon every 5 seconds represents a different (unlike the 23 other ones) but always synchronous sound variant. Each of the 24 sound variants of is a pure unscripted recording. Each individual hit is ‘true’. This is confirmed by our sensory reception. Each hit is ‘false’, our common sense tells us this, since different sound variants correspond with the same visual situation”."
