"In »Video and Breath«, Kwiek created a vision of a harmonious relationship between
the human being and the machine. “By creating a mechanical link between the knob regulating the brightness of the image and the movement of his chest, the artist could control the brightness of the image with his breathing.” His performance was based on an attempt to engage the machine in a process of semireligious meditation. The project became a humorous attempt to “spiritualise” video technology and the technologised socio-cultural paradigm related to it."
